About
Mindfulness has played a wonderful role in my life. I was very fortunate in that I was first taught to meditate when I was 23, and I have maintained a regular practice since then.
Training
I was trained in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition for 12 years, where my main teacher was American psychologist Winston McCullough.
Over time I became drawn to a more secular Mindfulness style of practice, and that led me to qualify with a Masters in Mindfulness-based Approaches from Bangor University in North Wales. That was an amazing three year program and at the time was the first place in the world where Mindfulness could be studied to Masters level.
My Life Coach training was with an ICF accredited program from Animas. The type of coaching is known as Transformational coaching. This style of coaching aims to guide people into their ideal life and most authentic self.
Today my coaching draws from these different areas. The sense of presence, acceptance and self-compassion of the meditation traditions, with the forward momentum, resilience and confidence building of Transformational life coaching.
